You must believe! That was the rallying cry embraced by Democrats during Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. Under the Christine Blasey-Ford concept of fairness, Kavanaugh was guilty until proven innocent; and no amount of proof would in the eyes of toxic feminists, ever be sufficient to establish his innocence as long as an upper middle class white professional woman was leveling accusations against him. That the allegations against Kavanaugh were wholly uncorroborated was a matter of no import. The only fitting punishment for Kavanaugh? Revoking his nomination for the Supreme Court.
With each passing day, additional photos are emerging of a frisky Joe Biden, creepily and inappropriately touching, caressing the hair, rubbing the shoulders, whispering closely and intimately to various women, young and old alike, without their consent. Some of these women have emerged recently and demanded an apology and promise to change his behavior. Now, some of the women offended at Biden’s behavior are speaking out publicly.
Lucy Flores, a former Nevada Assemblywoman, recounted her experience with Biden before a 2014 campaign event in a first-person story published by New York Magazine.
Under the Christine Blasey-Ford standard, whose application in the 21st century against deviant men, was deemed essential, nay mandatory by the Democratic Party, Biden should be put out to pasture.
Although most of the current crop of Democratic candidates, have condemned Biden, those Democrat strategists and party leaders with their heads screwed on straight realize, Biden may be the party’s best shot for winning the presidency. Although the primary season is far down the road and voter preferences subject to change, recent polling among Democrats tends to buttress this contention at this nascent stage of the race. The problem, of course is how to explain their unforgiving and austere standard applied in the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings and the newly revised, lax “Uncle Joe” standard that will govern the prior and consistently unseemly conduct of a Democratic nominee for president — who served as former president Obama’s loyal number 2 for eight years without a peep of protest from any prominent Democrat.
House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, was one of the first to dowse the #MeToo flames with water. When reporters asked whether Biden’s unwanted touching and kissing should disqualify him from the 2020 race, Pelosi, unequivocally defended the former vice-president, “No. No, I do not,” Pelosi told reporters. “I don’t think that this disqualifies him from being president,” she said while walking to the House chamber. “Not at all.”
Outspoken Hollywood progressive, Alyssa Milano, who along with many others in her profession, demanded Kavanaugh’s head on a spike, now seems prepared to overlook quirky, perverted Joe’s degenerate habits, credible described by a number of women, because not all accusations are created equal, especially those of women who assail potential Democratic presidential candidates. Milano explains herself in this tweet, “But, just as we must believe women that decide to come forward, we cannot assume all women’s experiences are the same.” And even if the behavior is debauched and reprehensible, Biden, a Democrat, is absolved because he says and performs the rituals progressives deem sufficient for exemption from the very standards they themselves have established.
Progressives mistakenly believe, due to their intellectual and moral superiority, as well as their quest for “social justice”, that they have a natural right to establish standards by which others (conservatives) must be bound, but which they can ignore with impunity. To progressives, there is no such thing as a “double standard”; there is only one flexible and elastic standard, defined by progressives and applied to themselves when it is expedient and suits their purposes.
It’s called “contextualization,” (do as I say, not as I do) and it is now a permanent fixture, indeed, the first and foremost principle of progressivism.
Progressives failure to abide by their own standards is always explained within the “context” of a “higher” calling, i.e., the pursuit of justice, or the need to save the republic from Trump; or, can be excused due to extraordinary circumstances, such as the existence of “white privilege” or the menace nature of a resurgent “white supremacy.”
It is the reason why the mainstream media will never apologize for, nor engage in any introspection concerning their consistent misrepresentations about the collusion narrative they so desperately wanted to be true. Contextualization is also the reason Joe Biden will never be held to the same standard as Brett Kavanaugh.
