For those who have witnessed for years, the Democrats cries of “racist,” every time conservatives disagree with progressives policy positions, it is delicious to watch Alexander Octavio-Cortez, an unrepentant socialist freshman congresswoman, insinuate that the speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is a racist, because she supported an appropriations bill to help alleviate the crisis on our Southern border that Octavio-Cortez found insufficiently protective of migrants “humanitarian rights.”
In terms of who will prevail in this Democratic Party infighting, that continues to escalate, I know who I’m putting my money on. There is a reason Nancy Pelosi remains Speaker of the House: she’s damn good at it. Pelosi is a shrewd political operator with decades of experience. She excels at maintaining party discipline and when the time comes to count the votes, Pelosi can corral her members and diverse caucuses to round up the ayes needed.
Pelosi’s put down of Alexander Octavio-Cortez and her fellow members of the “Clod Squad,” was exquisite “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said in the interview with Times’ columnist Maureen Dowd published Saturday.
Pelosi further elaborated on her earlier barb, in case AOC missed the meaning of her message: “But they didn’t have any following. “While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House…They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Anyone wanted to bet, that as this feud progresses, a replacement candidate for Octavio-Cortez is being groomed?
